Kevin Gates drops another song and it's hard. It's pure Kevin Gates though in his prime form. He's rapping like he's always been doing, but it truly works for him. Although, since he's been back from jail, he's been putting out work, but nothing has yet hit the mainstream like his previous work that got him to his truly celebrity status. However, Gates started out as a rapper from the internet and that was his main fan base in the first place. We as the pop audience were lucky enough to finally here his music once it hit the radio. He was already doing successful as a internet buzz, without the mainstream push. I guess that's what happens when you reach the top and you are not ready. The pressure probably took him over the top with his hood boy antics. Kevin Gates spent about 2-3 years in jail for kicking one of his female fans while he was performing. I don't know if that may have hindered his own success, because, Gates just hasn't been the same since he's been back out of jail. This is what I thought would happen to T.I. when he went to jail back to back in the same year. I saw T.I. make it out of that situation and came back stronger than before. It's almost as if he made you forget his mistake and accepted him as the great artist he is. I'm still waiting for that moment to happen to Kevin Gates, but he's still dropping new music, it's just a matter of time.
