This is a great rundown of Drake's musical history according to the video's he's released since 2009.
Drake jumped on the scene as the kid from that TV show Degrassi High. I had never heard of the show, but apparently, he was a favorite on the show and one of the main stars. The first record I heard from Drake was "Best I Ever Had", and it was a very catchy song. I still was a little apprehensive about this new artist. Then he came out with "Successful" ft. Trey Songs and at the time Trey Songs was just coming up and his stardom helps Drake's career and his own. Drake starting being played in heavy rotation on the radio. Then he comes out with a record featuring Eminem, Kanye West and Lil Wayne. At the time, this was unheard of, a new comer so young in the game with the biggest rap artist in them game, all the on the record at the same time.. this kid was well on his was.
However, I didn't know how many hits he was going to continue to give us and we loved every minute of it. Hit after hit Drake was able to stay up with the times and stay at the top of the billboard with every album that followed the last album and to credit each album, he had at least 3-5 hit records that were on the Top 200 Billboards. For those who don't know, for an artist, just to be able to get on the Top 200 is a true blessing. If you are at 199, your doing better than most artist out there. Drake has manage to stay at the top of the Billboard since he's been in the rap game. This video is his Music Video evolution in the game of hip hop and I must say, I know at least 95% of these songs and I believe they stopped at 2018 and we're in December. Dropping hit records like it nothing. Drake is a phenomenal rap artist who knows how to make hit records, even though he has ghost writers helping him out. Drake has been able to surpass most artist with the longevity at an artist and what he was able to accomplish is a very short time. Drake is signed to Lil Wayne's record label, Young Money Records along with Nicki Minaj and the three artist have been dominating the industry for the past decade and doesn't seem like they plan on stopping anytime soon.
