Meek Mill - What's Free feat. Rick Ross & Jay Z
Jay Z's verse on this record might as well have been the only verse on this record. I heard Meek Mill and Rick Ross verses and they are both great verse, but what Jay Z just did, was just on some other level. I think Jay Z truly realized what it takes to be a artist that stays relevant and staying with the generations times that has changed. He is able to still get on a track and not just be the guy the artist is just paying homage to and felt great to have him on the record. Nah.. this ain't it ya'll, Jay took this record and made it his own without Meek or Ross. This is the type of lyrics that hip hop needs to go back to and its a good thing to see that even though Jay had his reckless moments in music, he is able to turn that all around and make something out of his over 20 year career in hip hop. For instance, when Macklemore decided that he wanted to bring on the Furious 5 on the record, Macklemore was still the man person on the record, not just cause it was his record, but because the Furious 5 still are old school to even the fans of the 90's hip hop. But Jay Z got on this record and got on a teaching stint with rhythms and history. Not only did he body the song, but he outshines the other two rappers on the record. This is going to be like when Biggie dropped the song with Bone Thugs and Harmony and the only verse you got from BTH was the first guy who was after Biggie and really didn't need anything after that cause that dude bodied that song. This is what Jay Z did as a guest appearance on this record. But a long time ago the dopest rapper on a song was always the last person on the record. Well I guess this is the reason why he was the last person on this song. I love the political Jay Z cause I believe this is what hip hop needs to bad and ready to listen to again. Check out the song.
